Plantar fasciitis is an injury which Myotherapists treat often, plantar fasciitisis is the most common sources of heel pain.

The plantar fascia is a thick, weblike ligament that connects your heel to the front of your foot. It acts as a shock absorber and supports the arch of your foot, helping you walk. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common orthopedic complaints.

Causes of Plantar Fasciitis

  • Weak arches

  • Poor Biomechanics

  • Incorrect Footwear

  • Running sports

  • High impact landing

  • Flat feet

Myotherapy Treatments

MyoActive myotherapists are trained to assess, treat and manage Plantar fasciitis and will put together an individualised strengthen and rehabilitation treatment plan to help alleviate pain and restore normal function and movement.

MyoActive myotherapists will provide strength and conditioning exercises to strengthen the individual's arches. MyoActive will also supply a lacrosse ball during your initial myotherapy consultation to further provide relief and assist in strengthening the foot.

MyoActive has a team of podiatrists we work alongside with and can refer on if needed and guide you on what footwear is best suited to you! 

MyoActive will further assess your biomechanics, this will be done by watching you walk, run and do calf raises during your appointment.
